Birding in Boothbay Harbor, May 16 My husband Jeff and I are lifelong birders and would love for you to join us Saturday for spring birding on the Maine coast, where brightly colored warblers, grosbeaks, orioles, and sparrows are arriving back from their wintering grounds in the southern U.S. and beyond. Lobster Cove Meadows Preserve, a Boothbay Region Land Trust property, is an easy walk where we will have opportunity to see and hear these returning migrants as well as wetland species like showy Wood Ducks, trilling Swamp Sparrows, and Green Herons. Meet us at the Lobster Cove Meadows parking lot at 8:00 a.m., where we’ll have coffee and snacks waiting for you. Our bird walk should be over by 10:30 a.m..
