Merrymeeting Bay cleanup, June 13
The Friends of Merrymeeting Bay will conduct their annual cleanup day on Saturday at two locations on Merrymeeting Bay.

Volunteers are being asked to collect garbage at Abbagadassett Point in Bowdoinham and at Butler Cove in Bath. The effort is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.

Trash will be collected, documented and sorted for recycling or disposal. To register contact 582-5608 or 442-9335.

Merrymeeting Bay is a huge body of water between Bath, Woolwich and Bowdoinham. Two major rivers, the Kennebec and the Androscoggin, drain into the bay. Tides, circulation patterns and vegetation contribute
