Maine Bird Atlas Workshop, Apr 27
Maine Bird Atlas Workshop, Apr 27
The Brunswick Topsham Land Trust is putting on a workshop to support The Maine Bird Atlas, a project to survey and map the distribution and abundance of breeding and wintering birds in Maine. It is a joint effort between the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Maine Natural History Observatory, Maine Audubon, the Biodiversity Research Institute and the public.

The project will run from 2018-2022 to enable conservationalists and researchers to track changes in bird populations. Birds are an excellent indicator of environmental health, allowing for an overall understanding ofthe environmental health of the State of Maine.

This workshop will be aimed at giving a great explanation of the importance of understanding bird populations, what sort of things bird populations indicate and how you as a citizen scientist can play role in this effort.
