Land and Water Conservation Fund
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the CLEAR Act (oil spill legislation) that fully funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) at $900 million per year (which could mean millions for land conservation in Maine). The U.S. Senate is poised to consider its own oil spill/energy legislation (the Clean Energy Jobs and Oil Accountability Act—S.3663) that will also fully fund LWCF, and address oil drilling safety.

Please call or email U.S. Senators Snowe and Collins and ask them to vote “YES” to support full and dedicated funding for LWCF, and the other provisions of S. 3663, and “NO” on the Republican substitute.
