EXCLUSIVE: Baxter Park director to retire
EXCLUSIVE: Baxter Park director to retire
On Wednesday afternoon, Jensen Bissell, long-time staffer of Baxter State Park, announced his retirement. In an email, Bissell said, "after 30 years with Baxter State Park, I’ll be retiring at the end of the calendar year. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to help manage such a timeless idea and beautiful landscape."

Here is his message in full:

Just a short note to let you know that, after 30 years with Baxter State Park, I’ll be retiring at the end of the calendar year.

It has been a privilege and a pleasure to help manage such a timeless idea and beautiful landscape. Oh yeah, and the people I worked with were awesome, too. Many of them, some retired and some still on the payroll, continue to inspire me in both my work and my life.

Thanks for all the help, understanding, and inspiration you have given me over the years.

I hope to see you on the trail!

Jensen
